Dear Southlands Friends and Family:
Greetings! As the seasons change in the Hudson Valley, we reflect on the journey we've shared in preserving the beauty of nature and celebrating the majestic spirit of horses at The Southlands Foundation. Your continued support has been instrumental in our mission, and we appreciate for your continued commitment. Southlands has a deep history, transcending generations. We are grateful to Mrs. Dows for establishing Southlands for our community to cultivate a respect and love for the land and its animals. This time of year marks the beginning of our Southlands Annual Membership Drive.
In the past year, together we've achieved remarkable milestones, and with your support, we will continue to foster the following:
Conservation Efforts: Through our conservation initiatives, we have preserved our landscape to protect wildlife, ensuring that ecosystems thrive and flourish through our partnerships with the Waterman Bird Club and Scenic Hudson.
Educational Programs: Our educational programs have empowered individuals of all ages to deepen their understanding of nature's wonders and the profound connection between humans and horses, through our adult riding programs, clinics, as well youth programs, like Mommy & Me, Pony Camp, and Nature Camp.
Community Engagement: We have fostered a vibrant community of nature enthusiasts and horse lovers, providing opportunities for meaningful connections and shared experiences. Our community programs foster personal growth and wellbeing through our partnerships with Samaritan Daytop Village, the Anderson School, and the Bulkeley Middle School special education program.
Equine Partnerships: Our dedication to equine welfare supports our horse herd, promoting responsible care and advocating for their well-being.
Your annual membership renewal plays a crucial role in sustaining our efforts and driving positive change. By renewing your membership today, you reaffirm your commitment to the values we hold dear and join us in our ongoing mission to protect nature and honor horses.
To renew your membership, please complete the attached form or visit https://southlands.org/membership. You may also contact us directly at info@southlands.org.
Please note that our membership levels are the same as the previous year. Our lesson and boarding rates, however, will have modest increases, which reflect our increasing operating expenses. Your membership contribution is tax-deductible and, as a not-for-profit 501(c)3 entity, we qualify for many corporate matching gift programs.
Thank you once again for your support. Together, we will continue to make a meaningful difference through our connection with nature, horses, and our community.
Warm regards,
Michele M. Tugade
