A Skill That's Fun and Functional
If you've ever found yourself asking, "Where can I find a soap-making class near me?" you're on the right website. Making soap from scratch is a fun new activity for anybody interested in learning a new skill, making unique presents for your friends and family, or giving their home a more natural feel. Our soap-making class in NY is even the perfect bonding activity for you and your loved ones.
The Benefits Of Making Your Own Soap
At Clover Brooke Farm, we find fulfillment in empowering people to control the kinds of substances they introduce to their bodies with our soap-making class. Aside from teaching students a new skill, our graduates experience even more benefits of making their own soap.
All Natural
Our soap-making courses will show you that when you create your own soap, you can avoid synthetic chemicals like parabens and learn the right ingredient portions to infuse your soaps.
You Have Control Over The Ingredients
Commercially made soaps can sometimes include harsh chemicals that cause more harm than good over time. Finding soaps that don't irritate your sensitive skin can be challenging. Making your own soaps gives you the ability to create soaps that are formulated specifically for your skin.
The Benefits Of Using Natural Oils
Soap making includes using base oils. Using certain natural oils like coconut and olive pomace oils has natural benefits. They're also very gentle in the right proportions, decreasing the risk of skin problems from extended use. All of our soaps are vegan, responsibly made right at the farm.
They Make Fantastic Presents
Everyone needs soap. You're welcome. All jokes aside, a handcrafted soap you've taken the time to curate for someone means way more to them than a store-bought commercial brand. You also have peace of mind knowing they're using a natural product that's good for them.
Create Your Own Creative Outlet
Soap making is equally as scientific as it is an artistic activity. Cold process soap making allows you to create different patterns and mix colors and hues. People often say soap making is a relaxing process where people are most creative.
Starting your own company
When you've mastered soap-making courses, you'll have a new skill that opens the door to many business opportunities. Soap-making is a very profitable niche.
Join Our Soap Making Class- Southlands 8/4/23-6-7:30pm
This course will instruct students on the cold process technique of soap making, one of many methods (others include melt-and-pour, hot process, and rebatching).
BOOK YOUR SPOT NOW. Soap classes in NY fill up quickly!
Join our beginner's soap-making workshop if you're ready to get started but would need a little hands-on guidance.
The Ingredients Are In Your Pantry
By the end of this course, you'll be able to make your own soap bar in the comfort of your kitchen. Just follow our step-by-step guide to the classic cold process technique of soap-making using all-natural items in your pantry.
We'll get into our basic soap recipes and talk about everything from setting up a soap-making station to using the right tools and being careful around sodium hydroxide-lye, the critical ingredient in soap making. In this practical class, you'll learn about the benefits of making soap from scratch using traditional plant oils (no palm oil). These leave your skin feeling soft and looking radiant. Soaps with harsh detergents, which may dry out the skin and create inflammation, are out.
A Rewarding Experience In A Supportive Community
Making soap from scratch is a rewarding experience for everyone, even if you have no previous experience in the art. You're welcome to participate actively in a supportive learning community. Making soap is a pastime like any other; you may easily spend a lot of money on it (don't say we didn't warn you).

Sara Thompson: I grew up in Missouri, where I learned to ride in the saddle seat discipline. I relocated to New York many years ago, but my career at the District Attorney's office left me little time for horses. My recent retirement from public service has given me the chance to become a regular rider at Southlands. I have found the community at Southlands to be highly supportive, extremely competent and fun to be around. Southlands is unique in that it provides people of all backgrounds the opportunity to connect with horses, nature and history. I hope to help further its mission.
Amanda Miller: Amanda N. Miller is a local attorney whose practice focuses on real estate transactions. Prior to opening her own firm, Amanda was a partner in a New York City law firm that focused on commodity futures and antitrust class action litigation. Her daughter, Dakota, attended Southlands' Nature Camp last summer, and is beginning the Mommy & Me program this spring. Amanda is interested in Southlands' rich history and its relationship with the local community.
